Meta announced the Quest 3S, a new budget-friendly VR headset priced at $299.99. Aimed at broadening VR adoption, this model retains essential features of its predecessor, the Quest 3, but foregoes elements like a depth sensor and higher resolution displays to achieve a lower price point.
The event also featured the Orion AR glasses, currently in prototype form. These glasses aim to blend augmented reality with everyday eyewear design, although they remain in development.
Meanwhile, improvements to the Ray-Ban smart glasses include AI-enhanced capabilities such as real-time speech translation and customizable task reminders, along with new stylish frames.
Meta’s AI prowess continues to grow with updates to its AI assistant, now able to mimic celebrity voices like John Cena and Judi Dench across its platforms, including Instagram and WhatsApp. Moreover, the Llama 3.2 AI model advances image processing, signifying Meta’s strengthened position in AI innovation.
